Final post before we leave!

We'll be leaving in less than 24 hours. We just want to say that our time here has been a huge blessing, and we are so filled with joy looking back on how God was present in everything we did.

We thank you, partners in prayer, for always interceding for us and praying on our behalf. We want to say that surely your prayers were not in vain, and the Lord was always with us in everything.

God was truly glorified here in India! We would like to close this post with a few pictures:

God never fails!

God is so good here in Calcutta, India. We see His hand working in us and in the people every day. The weather these days have been somewhat rainy, so it's become an interesting change in the environment. Regardless, it still remains very hot with high humidity, and we go day by day sweating gallons of water.

God opened a door for us suddenly to perform a skit and two body worships in front of 1500 kids at a local private school that, though Christian by denomination, is predominantly filled with Hindu and Muslim students. Praise the Lord that He is moving in this nation. Though we only had 12 minutes of time to do anything, we believed that even through simple songs and dramas He would touch the hearts of the students and convict them. Shortly thereafter, we were invited to different schools, and we were even invited back to perform again in the same schools. Praise God!

Throughout this week, we've been working with the children in the village. The girls would be teaching them songs and dance with some games whereas the boys would be doing outdoor sports activities such as soccer and relays. It's been amazing working with them, really being able to see the joy in the hearts as we spend time with them. We are really beginning to understand what Jesus meant when He said, "Love one another as I have loved you, and by this the world will know that you are my disciples." It was sad to see our time with the village end this past Sunday. We really fell in love with the kids, but we do believe that whatever we did in the few days we had, God used it to truly plant a seed of truth in their hearts, that one day they would come to know the love of Christ.

Here are a few pictures as we promised. But we also promise to upload way more later!

That's it for now, unfortunately. We promise to update this as much as we can in the short week that we have left.

Please continue to pray for us and intercede for every person that we meet here, that somehow through our love they will come to know and love Christ. Please also pray for our team, that we would first love each other just as He has loved us, through which 1 John 4:12 would come true, that His love would abide in us so that the world may see the love of God.

Also, our team has been going through a lot of sickness and physical pain. Many of us are continuing to be affected by the different environment, and it has taken a toll on us. We really ask that you would pray powerfully for us, that we would be empowered to find joy and strength in the midst of all of these things. We do believe that some of this from the enemy, who hates it when we share the love of Christ to the people here. We see the enemy trying to hinder us from doing these things, so we ask for prayers that would encourage and strengthen us.

As a final word, we want all of our prayer supporters to know that all of your prayers are not in vain, and we do feel lifted and encouraged to fight on hard. It has been tough being here in Calcutta, India, but far more than that, the Lord has shown us the sheer joy there is in serving Him and loving His children here in India. So we truly, wholeheartedly thank you guys, and we want you know that the partnership we have in God's kingdom all over the world is surely in common. We hope that in the last week of our stay here in India, we together would strive for the joy in seeing God bringing His people to Him all over the world.

Soli Deo Gloria!

First week in Calcutta, India

We are always lifted up by your prayers back home! We just finished our first week here in Calcutta. We are definitely seeing so many things and learning so much. We all feel God's very presence in this place, and we always remember you guys as we stay here.

We did some VBS with the local children in a home a family generously opened for us, and we were also able to do the same at the local fellowship of believers. It has been a huge blessing for us, and we are encouraged to see the people coming with joy and faith. A couple days ago, we went into the village area and had fellowship with the local people. That too was extremely encouraging to us, and the people there were some of the kindest and genuinely joyful people. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to come to India to see these things. God is indeed so good.

We did get a bit culture-shocked: driving is crazy here! After we got off at the airport and were driving to our place of stay, we asked the driver, "So, I guess Indians don't really use lanes, huh?"

Response: "What are lanes?"

If you thought LA driving was bad, this is a whole new level. It's like Mario Kart LIVE on the streets, and 5 cars side-by-side on a two-lane street is absolutely normal.

India is indeed a very hot place, and the humidity is severe. It has affected our health, and many of us feel sick, especially from the massive pollution here in Calcutta. We are afflicted with things like indigestion, headaches, being drained from the heat, and other things that sometimes have us worried. Please pray especially for our physical health so that we could labor in the Lord with all of our strength with joy.

Though some of us are afflicted with sickness, we actually rejoice in all of these things because we know that it is simply the enemy trying to hinder us from working for His kingdom. We strongly feel His presence with conviction, and we know in our hearts that He will do something great in this nation. He has continued to deliver us in so many ways and we know that He will continue to have His hand upon us. Please continue to pray on our behalf, and we also pray that you would have a heart to pray unceasingly.

Throughout this week, we will be with children in the village areas, and we are excited to be a part of this.

That's all for now, and we will update very soon with some pictures!
